Local 955 offers its members the protection of a collective agreement and trained Business Representatives who have access to the services of experienced labour lawyers, should a dispute arise between you and your employer.
Local 955 maintains and operates its own Health and Welfare Plan and Pension Plan. Members of Local 955 may be eligible to participate in training and upgrading provided by the Operating Engineers Training Trust Fund.
Local 955 Business Representatives and Staff, provides its’ members with experienced, caring and dedicated representation.
Local 955’s Head Office is located in Edmonton with District Offices in Calgary, Ft. McMurray and Edson.

The International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 955 is proud to represent over 10,000 men and women in the Province of Alberta and the Northwest Territories for over sixty years.
Members of Local 955 work in general construction, pipeline, roadbuilding, mining, transportation, fabrication shops, equipment rental shops, mechanical repair shops, food and beverage plants, senior health care facilities, school divisions and in the municipal government sector.
They work as heavy equipment operators, mechanics, welders, crane operators, clerical employees, custodians, steam engineers, plant workers and other trades people.
